Last week I had come up with this issue. I had tried whatever I know. But for Share Point 2013 edition workflow, once the
workflow is triggered, the Internal Status of the workflow instance is
first changed to "Started", then ended as "Suspended".
Finally I have ended up with a conclusion that, we have to run workflow as "non-system account" for both manually and automatically.
But we still can manually run Share Point 2010 edition workflows on SharePoint 2013 with System Account.
